PS. You can find more of our Byron Bay food and drink recommendations here!
If you’re dining out for a special occasion… Beach Byron Bay
For a birthday, anniversary, special occasion, or simply a celebration of your trip away, Beach Byron Bay is a top pick from Roxanne in our Reception team. ” They have the most amazing views in town! The food is delicious and they use local and organic ingredients. I would recommend going for a nice lunch on a sunny day or dinner at sunset.”
If you’re chasing an Asian fix… Light Years
Our Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Jaimmi regularly makes a stop at flavour-packed Light Years. “The menu is designed to share, so bring a pal and dive in. Also, the cocktails are seasonal and to die for.”
If you love Mexican food… La Casita
Then make the 25 minute drive to La Casita in Brunswick Heads. You’ll have zero regrets, and infinity points of satisfaction.
If you’re looking for a sunset location… Balcony
After a hot day at the beach or shops, our General Manager Jess picks The Balcony at sunset as her go-to. “The vibe there is always awesome and fun, and it’s the perfect place to go with a group of girlfriends. I especially love their cocktails, and they have a sunset happy hour from 4 ’til 6pm daily”.
If you’re not one to book in advance… Miss Margarita
Miss Margarita is a Byron institution. It’s casual, colourful and quirky, and always results in a fun night out. Jaimmi has three key tips here:
- Go for their Happy Hour
- Three words: Lychee Chilli Margarita
- Be sure to get the tacos in front of you (particular shout out to the halloumi and snapper tacos)!
Miss Margarita takes walk-ins only; if they’re full when you arrive, pop your name down and they’ll give you a text when your turn’s up.
If you’re looking for relaxed vibes… Treehouse on Belongil
For those times when you just want somewhere with great vibes and a relaxed atmosphere, we recommend Treehouse on Belongil. “This is a little hidden oasis just out of town (hop on one of our free bikes, and you’ll be there in no time!), with an eclectic mix of retro furniture that boasts major bungalow vibes. Food-wise, they do rocking pizzas or if you’re heading there in the morning – go for a breakfast taco!”
If it’s a cosy wintery day… Japonaise Kitchen
Rain and cool weather in Byron got you wondering what to do? Roxanne suggests tucking into Japonaise Kitchen’s tasty and authentic menu.
If you love Chin Chin in Melbourne/Sydney… Bang Bang
Gaining a tick of approval from many of our team, Bang Bang is a favourite for many. Roxanne loves the Banquet here. “It’s such a fun and delicious tasting menu! All you have to do is sit back, sip on some delicious cocktails and discover their menu through a 7 course meal.”
If you’re having cocktails with girlfriends… Loft
“Loft is such a cute restaurant and they make delicious cocktails. I would definitely recommend their Coconut Lychee Margarita!” – Roxanne
If you love Mediterranean-inspired fare… Barrio
Away from the bustle of the main town, Barrio is where we at The Lord Byron recently had our Christmas party, to the delight of many. The food is divine, the setting is simple and beautiful, and the service is impeccable!
