Getting To Byron Bay From Ballina or Gold Coast
The Lord Byron Hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Byron Bay, on Jonson St. We are just 500m from the Byron Bay Bus Interchange, and also provide complimentary onsite car parking for guests.
There are a number of ways of arriving to Byron Bay and The Lord Byron, outlined below. Whichever option you choose, we recommend organising your transport in advance.
BY AIR
By air, the best way to reach Byron Bay is flying to either Ballina Airport (35km / 30-45 minute drive) or Coolangatta (Gold Coast) Airport (68km / 45 minute drive). Brisbane Airport (175km away / 2 hour drive) is also another option.
Jetstar, Virgin, Rex and Qantas operate regular flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Ballina.

At both airports, there are connecting transfers, and car hire available.

CAR HIRE
If you’re looking for flexibility and interested in taking on some day trips while in Byron Bay, it may be a good idea to hire a car from your arrival airport. Hertz, Avis, Budget, Thrifty and Europcar each have car hire options with airport pickup.
