Caity Clarkson food and drink guide to Byron Bay: My top 5 favourite places to dine

Dining Out: Caity Clarkson’s Top 5 Eats in Byron Bay

There are so many beautiful cafes and restaurants to visit in Byron Bay. Spoiled for choice is absolutely an understatement in this famous seaside town! When it comes to finding a place to eat, you may simply roam the streets and wait for something to take your fancy. Or, if you’re a bit of a foodie and enjoy researching your destination before you arrive, you might rather have a plan of attack. If the second is you, hello! You’ve come to the right place.

1. Combi

Located in the heart of Byron Bay, only a 1-minute walk from The Lord Byron Hotel. With coffee, delicious smoothies and a menu featuring local organic produce, Combi is the quintessential Byron cafe. A colourful aesthetic, laidback vibe and super friendly team. What more could you ask for? Acai bowls? Yep. Nourish bowls? Yep they do those too!

Open Daily 7am – 3pm

2. Treehouse Byron Bay

A beachside haven surrounded by greenery, Treehouse is located in the quiet Belongil Beach area of Byron. Filled with wood-fired pizzas, great cocktails and live music, this restaurant is always buzzing and has such an awesome vibe. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this spot needs to be on your radar!

3. Bang Bang

Not that you can ever go wrong with Asian Fusion, but Bang Bang gets it SO right. Upon entering you are hit with their eclectic-industrial style, moody lighting and an abundance of greenery. Visually, they really do make up for their unassuming exterior. But just wait until you see the menu – that really is the best part. The food was absolutely incredible! I’ll let you check out the menu for yourselves. Be sure to book in advance. It gets busy!

Open for Lunch: Saturday-Sunday from 12pm – late | Dinner Daily 5pm – late

4. Folk Cafe

Could this be the best cafe in Byron Bay? Highly likely. You will need a car or bike* to get here though as it’s set out a little further down the main road. I can guarantee you it’s worth the trip. Set amongst a jungle of plants, Folk is dedicated to vegetarian and plant-based eating. This is one little gem that is good for the earth and for your soul. Be sure to stop here and order their nourish bowl.

Open Daily 7:30am – 2:30pm

*Make the most of complimentary bike hire and car parking when you stay at The Lord Byron Hotel

5. Light Years

Interior design lovers, prepare to be impressed. When a place looks this good, you wonder if the food is worth the hype. Can confirm, Light Years is not just a pretty face. That kingfish ceviche was next level. Presentation on point followed by a total flavour EXPLOSION! Light Years is a short walk down Jonson St. Tucked away on the outskirts of Byron’s hub, you may not simply stumble across this beauty but you still need to make sure you book, especially for dinner.

Open Daily 12 – 11pm

Longing to wine and dine your way around Byron Bay? Check-in to The Lord Byron Hotel, and take comfort knowing you’ll be located in the very hotspot of Byron’s best eateries and bars.
