The Outdoors
Byron Bay sparkles no matter the season, so we highly encourage outdoor escapades during your winter visit. In fact, the winter season offers less rainy days and less rainfall than its summer counterpart.
Cape Byron Lighthouse walk: This scenic coastal walk is equal parts grounding and breathtaking. Enjoy dolphin and whale-spotting, en route.
Whale watching: Use Cape Byron Lighthouse as a vantage point for spotting whales during the migrating season (May to September). Or, hop on a whale watching tour to get closer to the action.
Main Beach at sunset: There’s something about takeaway, buskers, and being perched on a grassy knoll at sunset, that just feels a little bit magic. Bring a jacket and simply enjoy the vibes.
Slow Mornings in Coffee Corners
Masa Byron Bay: Artisan craft bakehouse, with the kind of flaky, buttery goods that’ll warm your morning.
Sunday Sustainable Bakery: Unassuming bakery meets cafe, that is also 100% seed oil free. Just a short walk stroll from The Lord Byron.
Long Lunches
Frida’s Field: Hatted restaurant, on a 120-acre regenerative farm in Byron Bay’s Hinterland.
The Hut: A delightful dining experience, over a celebration of traditional Mediterranean flavours.
Rae’s: A two-hatted icon, within an interior as exquisite as the menu.
Tweed River House: Gorgeous views and a provencal style menu in the Byron Hinterland.
Bay Grocer: Take your coffee in, with a side of local produce, deli goods and gourmet grocer stock.
Distilleries and Breweries
Husk Farm Distillery: 150 acres of farm land, with tours, tastings and casual arvos on offer.
Cape Byron Gin Distillery: Home to our favourite Brookie’s Gin, and a well-worthy rainforest tour and tasting experience.
Stone & Wood Brewery: A must, as far as we’re concerned. Craft beer, snacks, and tours available.
Wandana Brewery: Family-friendly taproom and beer garden. Expect live music, a food truck, drinks and good vibes.
Shopping
Fashion: Our love list is long, but if we have to narrow down to favourites and must-tries, this is it. Spell, St Agni, Nagnata, Rowie The Label and Mister Zimi for women’s fashion. Saturdays NYC for the men. And Ziggy Zaza for childrenswear.
Homewares: Again, we could get carried away here. But to begin, add Marr-kett, Habitat Collective and Ha’veli to your list.
Leisure and Lifestyle: The Book Room is an independant, local bookstore in which you could very happily while away your day. Trinkets the Bead Shop allows you to pick, mix, and make your own jewels.

Dinner and Drinks
Bang Bang: South East Asian inspired menu. The food, drinks and vibe all get full marks.
Bar Heather: A favourite wine bar, book ahead.
Treehouse Byron Bay: Wood-fired pizzas, fresh cocktails and live music under the palms.
Moonlight: Hidden laneway haunt, offering a modern take on traditional Japanese Hibachi Grill.
North Byron Hotel: Tucked away treasure, with good vibes on tap.
Pixie Italian: Relaxed, coastal take on classic Italian dining, with an interior to match.

Hinterland drives: Bangalow, Brunswick Heads, Cabarita, Burleigh Heads
